So I've been trying to figure out why my lights haven't been grouping in my Google Home app in my basement. I've found several Reddit threads where people have been asking how to group / not group lights, but nobody has been able provide a solution. I just assumed all switches would be treated as lights, which was apparently a dumb assumption. Say the voice command, "Hey Google, sync all devices." If you have more than one smart light bulb in your bathroom, turning them off at the same time is practical. You can connect up to 50 smart lights to the Ring Bridge. In the Philips Hue app, a group of lights is called a room. You can also create a zone that groups bulbs from multiple rooms.
You can then add devices to a "room" in your home from the Google Home app and control all devices in a room as a group. I just want it not to group anything unless I specifically create a group. I have lights in the same room that are never in the same state. It makes Google home app useless, because I have to make 3 clicks if I want to turn on a specific light.

By grouping the smart lights in your dining room, you can easily change the brightness of your lights. For a comfortable family meal, you may want to use brighter lights than for a romantic dinner. Ask the person who created the home to add you as a member. The signal between your bulb and your speaker or display might not be strong enough. To increase the signal strength, move the bulb and your speaker or display closer to each other. They should be no more than 15 feet apart. The bulbs must be turned on before you continue. If you have bulbs already set up in the C by GE app, you can delete them from the C by GE app and set them up in the Google Home app.
You can also link these to a Google Home or Alexa speaker. The smart switch can then be connected to an app. You can use the app to control the switch. This lets you turn all the light bulbs on and off at once. You can also use a smart switch to dim the light bulbs.

To schedule a Routine, set the time and day, and the speaker you want to use. Open the Google Home app touch and hold the light you want. If your bulb has color options, you'll also find color controls. Follow the bulb maker’s instructions to set up your bulb. You may need to set up a bridge or hub, if you haven’t already done so.
For example, if you say “Hey Google, turn off the kitchen lights” the lights in the kitchen will switch off. You will need to download an app that controls the hub. The hub then sends the signal to the lights. If you have already been using the hub, you probably already have the app. You can then control the lights in your living room as a group.
